Drop forged chains are primarily used in the bulk material handling of products such as ash, coal, and grain. They are typically fitted with flights or special attachments. The chain-links are forged out of especially selected alloy steel and are then subjected to precision machined processes.
Our drop forged chains are manufactured from a high grade alloy steel such as 42CrMo. We can of course also make custom forgings according to your specific requirements by using other materials and heat treatments for achieving high strength and wear resistance of our chains. Our drop forged chains have standard type, double type and triple link type.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF DROP FORGED CHAINS
Drop Forging: Conveyor chains belong to the closed die drop forging group of products. Therefore, the forging dies must first be made before the final conveyor chains can be forged. Our in-house die workshop is fully capable of supplying our clients with high precision forging dies and of course completing the process of forging the conveyor chains according to our clients’ expectations and requirements.
Machining: Our advanced CNC machining centers guarantee a superior and permanent quality of our products such as conveyor chains. These machining operations include milling, drilling, boring, etc. Machining ensures perfect assembling and working.
Heat Treatment: Heat treatment ensures a uniform surface hardness and depth of the drop forged chains. Heat treatment is the main process for making drop forged conveyor chains. With our long years of drop forged chains manufacturing experience, we have obtained an excellent knowledge and are thus very proficient in executing the heat treatment process in order to achieve only the best work performance and output.
Quality Testing: Each drop forged chain link is checked and tested in our testing room after the manufacturing. We especially emphasize our tests of the drop forged chain links for their strength and hardness.
